    Leaf
  • Leave the cave you start in and enter the village of Leaf.
  • Talk to the elder in the upper-left house and he will give you the Sword of Wind. Press SELECT and equip the sword.
  • Talk to the man in the upper-right house and he will give you $100 from Zebu.
  • Enter the item shop and buy an Alarm Flute.
  • Leave the village and fight the enemies in the valley to raise your experience level and to get more money for equipment.
  • Enter the cave on the west side of the valley and talk to Zebu. He will promise to teach you some magic if you can make the Windmill work.
  • Enter the cave across the bridge at the north end of the valley.
  • Use the Alarm Flute to wake up the guard and he will give you the Windmill Key.
  • Continue through the cave to the Windmill and put the Key into the keyhole to activate it. A cave entrance will appear next the Windmill.
  • Return to Zebu in the cave and he will teach you Refresh which you can use to heal yourself.
  • Enter the cave next to the Windmill and look for the Ball of Wind. This will allow you to destroy the barriers if you power up your sword to the second charge level.
  • Proceed through the cave and defeat the vampire. Just behind him is the exit of the cave leading to the second area.

    Brynmaer
  • Just south of the save exit is the town of Brynmaer.
  • Talk to Akahana at the entrance of the town and he will tell you about his missing statue.
  • Talk to the young man in the tavern and he will leave in search of riches on Mt. Sabre.
  • Go to the northeast corner of the area outside Brynmaer and cross the bridge. Move to the west into the bushes to find Akahana's Statue of Onyx.
  • Give the statue back to Akahana in Brynmaer and he will give you the Gas Mask.

    Oak
  • Enter the swamp, located on the east side of the area outside Brynmaer across the river. Make sure the Gas Mask is equipped.
  • Enter the village of Oak in the northeast corner of the swamp. The dwarves will only say 'Go in Peace' to you.
  • Leave the swamp and visit Tornel, located northeast of Brynmaer. Challenge Stom and press the B button repeatedly to push him against the far wall. You may not be able to beat him the first time. Tornel will then teach you Telepathy.
  • Return to Oak and you will now be able to speak with the dwarves. One of the dwarves will tell you that their son is missing.
  • Find the missing dwarf child in the southeast corner of the swamp and return him to his mother in Oak. She will give you the Insect Flute.
  • Talk to the elder of Oak. He will give you the Sword of Fire and ask you to defeat the monster that has been plaguing the village.
  • Go to the northeast corner of the swamp and use the Insect Flute to call the monster. Defeat it to get the Ball of Fire.
  • Return to Oak and the dwarves will thank you for defeating the monster.

    Mt. Sabre
  • Go to Mt Sabre, south of Brynmaer. Use the Sword of Fire and the Ball of Fire to destroy ice barriers there.
  • Take the passage that leads back to Leaf and you will find that all the people are gone. Talk to the rabbit in the shed and he will tell you what happened to them.
  • Return to Mt Sabre and go to the west side of the mountain. Use the rabbit boots to jump up the slope and get the Tornado Bracelet in the cave at the top of the slope.
  • Find Tornel on the top of Mt. Sabre and he will teach you Teleport if you have the Tornado Bracelet.
  • Return to the area outside of Brynmaer, go to the top-right corner of the area, north of the swamp, and enter the northern part of Mt. Sabre.
  • Enter Nadare's Inn on Mt. Sabre and talk to the people there.
  • Just outside Nadare's Inn, you will find the man from Brynmaer who wanted to get rich. Listen to his dying words.
  • Defeat the guards and enter the cave on the mountain.
  • Climb the mountain and release the people of Leaf from their cells. Get the Key to Prison located behind the second cell.
  • Go behind the first cell to reach the top of the mountain. Defeat General Kelbesque and you will receive the Flame Bracelet.
  • Use the Key to Prison to open the elder of Leaf's cell.
  • Continue through the cave behind the elder to reach Portoa. Just before you leave the cave, Zebu will teach you Paralysis.

    Portoa
  • Enter Portoa, located just below the exit to Mt. Sabre and talk to villagers there.
  • Enter the Palace and talk to the queen. Leave the Palace and enter again. The guard will not let you enter the throne room. Use Paralysis to paralyze the guard before he blocks the door and enter. Enter the secret passage behind the throne room. Leave the palace and talk to the fortuneteller. Return to the queen in the palace and she will give you a Flute of Lime.
  • Enter the cave behind the waterfall northeast of Portoa.
  • Use the Flute of Lime to return the guards to normal and continue through the cave.
  • Turn right at the fork in the road to get the Sword of Water. Use this to defeat the hydra's there.
  • Find the Flute of Lime in the cave and use to restore Akahana nearby. He will give you the Shield Ring as a reward for saving him.
  • Leave the waterfall cave and go to the Lime Tree south of Portoa. Rage will give you the Ball of Water there. This will allow you to make ice bridges across shallow water and lava. Make an ice bridge across to the tree and hear Mesia's message.
  • Return to the palace in Portoa and the guard will tell you to enter the underground channel behind the throne room. Make a couple of ice bridges to reach the queen's chamber. She will reveal her true identity as Asina and will teach you Recover.
  • Make an ice bridge across the shallow part of the river southeast of Portoa and enter the cave on the other side.
  • Walk into the flower bush just northeast of the other end of the cave to find the Kirisa Plant. This is used later in the game.
  • In the underground channel behind the throne room in Portoa is a wounded dolphin. Use a medical herb on him and he will give you the Shell Flute.
  • Teleport to Brynmaer and create an ice bridge across the river east of the town to reach the town of Amazones. The women here don't like you and want you to leave. Use paralysis on the guard to Aryllis's house to enter. The Blizzard Bracelet can be found in the basement of Aryllis's house.
  • Return to Portoa, create an ice bridge east of the town, south of the waterfall, and enter the cave on the other side of the river.
  • Find the Fog Lamp inside the cave.
  • Return to Portoa and give the Fog Lamp to the man at the west edge of town and he will allow you to use his boat The boat will take you to the Angry Sea.

    Angry Sea
  • Enter the cabin where the boat stops and talk to Kensu.
  • Leave the cabin and use the shell flute to call the dolphin. Jump on his back and you can travel on the sea.
  • Go to Joel found on an island just north of the cabin. Talk to the elder of Joel, Ralph, and he will tell you about the monster from the next island demanding a sacrifice.
  • Get back on the dolphin and go to Evil Spirit Island, west of Joel. The shellfish in the channel just inside the island give a lot of experience.
  • Enter the cave at the end of the channel and look for the Iron Necklace. This item will increase you armor defense.
  • Continue through the cave to Zombie Town. You will find Clark in the basement of one of the houses.
  • Enter Sabera's Castle at the north end of Zombie Town.
  • Defeat the vampire and continue through the castle.
  • At the top of the castle you will find Sabera disguised as Mesia. Attack her to reveal her true identity. Defeat her to get the Broken Statue.
  • Return to Zombie Town and the people will be back to normal. Talk to Clark in the basement of one of the houses and he will give you the Eye Glasses.
  • Return to Joel and enter the shed by the elder's house. Use the Eye Glasses to reveal a hidden passage to the lighthouse.
  • Go to the lighthouse and wake up Kensu with an Alarm Flute. He will leave behind the Glowing Lamp.
  • Use the Glowing Lamp to restore your Broken Statue into the Statue of Gold.
  • Go to the Golden Temple on an island just northwest of Evil Spirit Island. Use the Statue of Gold to calm the Angry Sea.
  • Continue north through the gap where the whirlpool used to be. As you pass through Asina will teach you Barrier.
  • Continue northeast to the town of Swan

    Swan
  • Enter the shed between the Inn and the Item Shop. Stom will tell you to find Kensu.
  • Enter the Tavern and use paralysis on the guard standing next to the table. He will reveal himself as Kensu and will disappear.
  • Go to the dance hall and use paralysis on the guy in the bottom-left corner. Kensu will reveal himself and then ask you to find his pendant.
  • Return to the Angry Sea and enter the underground channel at the far south end of the Sea. Search carefully in the channel for the Love Pendant.
  • Return the Love Pendant to Kensu in Swan and he will teach you Change. You can use this magic to change form.
  • Go to the west end of Swan and use Change to turn into a guard. Talk to the guards in this form and they will open the gate for you.
  • Use teleport to go to Amazones and change into a girl. The women there will be a lot nicer to you.
  • Give the Kirisa Plant to Aryllis and she will reward you with the Bow of Moon.

    Mt. Hydra
  • Go to Mt. Hydra west of Swan.
  • Continue along the bottom of the mountain and make an ice bridge across the lava.
  • Once you get to the guards, change into Stom (first one) and they will allow you to enter Shyron.
  • Talk to Zebu in the temple at the back of Shyron and he will give you the Key to Stxy.
  • Continue up Mt. Hydra to the left summit and use the Key to Stxy to open the gate to Stxy.
  • Equip the Shield Ring at the entrance to Stxy so the statues will cause minimal damage to you as you walk by.
  • Continue through Stxy to the Sword of Thunder.
  • Once you get the Sword you will be teleported back to Shyron and will talk to Azteca the grand puba. You will learn a lot about your current situation here.
  • Leave Mt. Hydra and enter Fortress of Goa behind the town of Goa. Use the shield ring again to get past the statues.
  • Once you reach the iron wall, you will be told telepathically that Shyron is under attack. Use the teleport spell to return to Shyron. When you get there everyone will be either dead or dying.
  • Enter the temple at the back of Shyron and defeat Mado with the Sword of Water. You will receive the Ball of Thunder.

    Goa Fortress
  • Before you go to Goa, it may be a good idea to enter the cave in the oasis in the desert south of Goa. In it you will find the Leather Boots and the Power Ring which will make the bosses in Goa Fortress a lot easier.
  • Return to the Fortress of Goa and destroy the iron wall with the Sword of Thunder.
  • Continue through the fortress and defeat General Kelbesque to receive an Opel Statue and to release Zebu who will restore you HP and MP.
  • Defeat Sabera on the second floor to receive Fruit of Repun and to save Tornel who will also restore your HP and MP.
  • Defeat Mado on the third floor to receive Sacred Shield and to save Asina who will restore your HP and MP.
  • Kensu on the forth floor has been turned into a monster. Defeat Karmine to get the Ivory Statue to change him back. Also get the Storm Bracelet behind Karmine. Kensu will teach you Flight and will heal your wounds.
  • Take the passage behind Kensu to find a shortcut out of the fortress. Use flight or the leather boots to get across the huge lava field. Then use flight to get across the water. Get the Leather Boots and the Power Ring if you have not already done so. You will exit in the oasis in the desert south of Goa.
  • Return to Mt. Hydra and climb to the summit. Use flight to reach the treasure chest holding the Bow of Sun.
  • Enter Stxy again and use flight to get across the water to get the Psycho Shield.
  • Return to Goa town, change into Akahana (last one), and talk to the man in the top-right building. He will give you the Warrior Ring. When equipped, you will not have to charge up your sword to fire shots from it.

    Pyramid
  • Enter the desert south of Goa and use the Leather Boots to walk in the sand unharmed.
  • Go to the cave in the bottom-right corner and use flight to get over the quicksand to enter the cave.
  • Go through the cave to the valley with the rabbits. Change into Stom (first one) and talk to Deo. It will give you Deo's Pendant. When equipped, this item will slowly recharge your MP when you are standing still.
  • Go south to the town of Sahara. Buy as many Magic Rings as you can since they will be useful for the rest of the game and there is nothing else you need your money for.
  • Enter the cave east of Sahara. It might be a good idea to raise your experience level to 16 fighting the enemies in this cave.
  • Use flight to enter the Pyramid in the desert just outside the cave exit.
  • Climb to the top of the Pyramid and defeat the emperor with the Sword of Thunder. You will receive the Psycho Armor and will drop down to the entrance of the pyramid. Talk to Azteca there and he will give you the Bow of Truth.
  • Enter the back entrance of the Pyramid, found north of the main Pyramid.
  • Use the Bow of Sun and the Bow of Moon to defeat the fire breathing statues and to open a path into the Pyramid.
  • When you reach the emperor, use the Bow of Truth to reveal his true form. Use the Power Ring, the Sword of Thunder, and the Storm Bracelet to defeat him.

    Tower
  • Enter the tower behind the Emperor's room. Use the Sword of Thunder and the Warrior Ring to defeat the enemies. When you defeat all the enemies on a level, a stairway to the next level will appear.
  • Enter the room where Mesia is near the top of the tower and your four swords will turn into the Crystalis.
  • Climb to the top of the tower and defeat Dyno using Crystalis and the Power Ring. Aim for the eye when it opens.
